Meet Our Board Members
Gerald English – Founding Board member, President
I served 5 years in the US Air Force. I’ve been involved with electronics, computers and 2 way radio for 45 years. I’ve owned several successful businesses. I’ve been involved with several grassroots movements to support our troops in the field since 2003. I was selected as Monterey County Veteran of the Year 2007. Warriors Heart began as an idea of a way I could give back to the people who give themselves to the service of others and their country.
Cynthia Stanley - Founding Board member, Vice-President
Raised as a AF Brat, and being married to a wonderful man who also served his time in the AF, it was only natural for us to get involved with supporting our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.
We met up with people in 2003 at a Rally to Support the Troops. Through networking during the year, it was decided to send Christmas cards to the Troops. Ongoing efforts by hundreds of volunteers has sent over 8 tons of goodies as of Dec 2008. Working with other Americans that just WANT TO GET THE JOB DONE has been so rewarding and inspired Jerry and I to continue to support the troops but in a different way.
Moving to AZ and forming an official non-profit called Warriors Heart inc. is a tremendous amount of work, but we are inspired daily as we remember WHO we are doing it for......our troops that volunteered to put on a military uniform and step directly into the danger zone to defend the freedom we enjoy here in the USA.
Treasurer - Position Vacant
John Parker - Founding Board member, Secretary
After growing up in Bakersfield, CA, I began a career in electronics and communication by working on the USNS Mercury, a tracking ship used in support of the Apollo missions to the moon. I then began working on high frequency communications and became interested and centered on microwave communications including touring the United States with the Teleprompter SpaceCast Project, which was the first domestic satellite television receiving equipment to be sponsored for cable television; it was so early, that the only television channels available were three on Canada’s Anik satellite. Since that time, I have continued to work in the communications industry, including design and development of microwave equipment, design installation and maintenance of microwave systems, cable television systems, microwave semiconductors and two-way radio communications. I am also a past president of the Golden Gate Chapter of the Society of Cable Television Engineers.
